Transferring photos
Digital images can be transferred to a computer or other storage device via a USB cable, either directly from the camera or by using an external memory card reader. Some digital cameras come with a PCMCIA interface which can be inserted into a notebook computer.
Digital cameras come with a CD containing a driver (not all operating systems require a driver), an image viewer and basic photo editing software. The driver and/or viewer should generally be installed before making the USB connection to the computer. Check your manual for specific instructions.
After software installation, attach the cable to your digital camera and plug the other end into the computer. Then turn on the camera. Typically the viewer software automatically launches and begins the image transfer process. When the transfer is complete, you can browse and view images. Some operating systems provide a wizard to assist in the transfer prosses.
Other image transfer methods
