Im interested in purchasing an Olympus camera but was told that the focus does not work but the pics come out okay. Plays back fine. The camera was not dropped nor did it get water it it.  I need to know if this is worth getting fixed and/or if anyone knows why there is this focus problem.  :-/

Hi oopsydaisy and welcome to the Q&A Board!

Am I correct in assuming that you're considering buying a used camera? If so, how old is it? Is it from an individual or a store? YOu didn't mention to model; it is a point and shoot or advanced model?

Digital cameras can be very expensive to repair and with the prices coming down, you can get a decent digital camera for under $200 though they won't have all the features of an expensive model. I'd certainly call Olympus and find out the cost of repair before buying.

If the focus isn't working, then I'm not sure how the pics come out okay.

Hi there, if I were you, I would look around for a good price on a fully functional camera. The ability to focus correctly is integral for photography. You mentioned that this camera is "expensive". You might be better off buying a less expensive camera that works, than an expensive model cheap that doesn't work.  Wink
