Before we chuck it, is there any possibility of resurrecting a digital camera with water damage? (Daughter, 11, did this with her dad's $700 digital camera. She feels really bad. And he's not so happy about it eitehr.)
It fell in a bucket of ice water (fresh water) for about 2 seconds. We dried it gently with a blow dryer. Turning the blow dryer on for only a minute or so, then turning it off so the camera would not get hot. And repeated for about 6 times.
We have tried turning it on again, nothing happens. Nor with a new battery.
Any help? Suggestions? Prayers??
Thanks,
Kathy

Hi Kathy and welcome to the Q&A Board,
Ouch, I'm so sorry to hear about your camera. The bit of good news is that the water was fresh water, not salt, though I don't know what the chances are of you getting it back working. Have you tried drying the camera out for, say, 24 hours? Remove the batteries and memory cards, leave all compartment doors open and just let everything air dry.
If I were you, I'd call the manufacturer immediately. Only their technical expertise and, perhaps, their look at the camera, can determine if it can be salvaged. I'm not overly optimistic, but you really won't know until you get it checked out by pros.
