Digital cameras 101

I know this probably sounds dumb but I have been trying to find this answer for a week!

I am purchasing a sony, pict bridge photo printer, since it is compatible w/ diff brand cameras.  I am technologically challenged so I have been looking specifically for "PICT BRIDGE COMPATIBLE" on the descriptions of cams all over.  I am not finding it.  If they have the USB cables, which many do, does this mean it is a PB compatible?  Or are there other signs that I might look for for this type of technology!

Hi Angelina and Welcome to Digicamhelp!

Most digital cameras today are PictBidge compatible. A salesman should be able to tell you if one is compatible.  The box the camera comes in would have this symbol:

If you buy a camera online, check out the specs for the camera. They should mention if the camera is PictBridge compatible.
