Hi - I am sad to say my Nikon Coolpix 5700 camera was stolen over the holidays. I need to replace it and although I liked the camera and was used to using it, I'm wondering if I should get something different. I am a point and shoot type person, but I like the extras too. I also am comfortable with the size of the camera. Any recommendations?
Hi Tracy,
Sorry to hear that you lost your camera.
The Nikon 5700 is a very sophisticated advanced digital camera. Don't know if you're still looking for something in that price range but its replacement, the Nikon 8800 has many improvements such as image stabilization (vibration reduction for the 10X zoom); an autofocus assist lamp and 15 scene modes for point and shoot photo taking.
Comparable cameras would be the Panasonic FZ20 (though it doesn't have a LCD which rotates) and the Olympus C-8080 Wide Zoom.
