is there any difference in picture quality taken on 5.1m or 3.2m resolution digicam setting to 640 X 480 image size?
Hi ajm,
Welcome to the Q&A Board!
To answer your question: well, Yes and No.
It really depends on how to plan to use the image. If it's primarily to send via email or post on the web, shooting at 640 X 480 is fine. But if you want to print, or crop the image for printing, you may lose image quality. If you shoot at a higher resolution (after all, you may take a photo you really want printed), you can always reduce it to the smaller size.
If the reason you want to use the smaller size is to get more images on a memory card, to be honest, you're better off buying an extra card and shoot at a higher resolution.
