I'm considering buyig a new digital camer. Do you know if (the manufacturer) is close to releasing a replacement for it?

Sure there will be a replacement or upgrade sometime in the future. The manufacturer has made no announcements to that effect so who knows when. Since we're dealing with an unknown, let's reply with questions since there are no immediate answers.

It may be worth your wait for a new model but how long is the wait? Also, a replacement could cost several hundred dollars more than the current very fine model. Will a few new features be worth the extra cost?

If you need or want a digital camera now, buy one. If not, wait for that currently unknown future release
