Here are macro  shots I took with my Pentax K20D. I have two lenses that I can use for macro, one is a new Sigma 17-70, the other a 30 years od Vivitar 70-210 (all manual). Can you guess which pictures were taken with each lens? No exif peeking!

I somehow missed your original post! Love the images, particularly the near-monochromatic ones (green). I can't tell them apart as far as which lens was used: old or newer. Guess that means "older" is just as good as "newer," right!  Wink Grin

I prefer the second set too, I'm getting better with the camera.

The new lens was used for the two green shots, and for the first, second, and last shots in the first series. As you say, sometimes older lenses can perform impressively well.
