Unfortunately, I've never heard of Expanded Focus. Are you using the right term? I know Extended Focus relates to using close up filters for macro photography.

Hi, I checked online and found the "users guide". On page 60 it states that "expanded focus" when turned "on", "expands the center of the screen double in manual focus mode". I assume that means that the view on the screen is enlarged to make manual focusing easier to see to accomplish.

Thanks once again guys......yep i have gone through my Manual hoever Deb as you can see the manual does not explain the function properly- also can you advise what does manual focusing refer to or how do you do a MF - when try that option I dont get those Auto Focus brackets which tell me the point is under focus......can you throw some light on the same ?

Hi, from what I gather (see page 38 and page 40 of the users guide), when using "manual focus" you are to set the distance-to-subject first. You do this (page 40) by observing the "manual focus bar" which appears in your viewfinder and choosing an approximate distance using the back and forward arrows on the control button. The guide suggests that using the "expanded focus function" should make focussing on the subject easier because the image view is doubled. It also suggests trying that "peaking" feature to assist in focussing also.
