Thanks Deb. :-)  I like that one too.  I just wish he had been displaying more of his red on his throat in that shot and that the light had hit what red there was better.  It would have been awesome! Smiley

More like this new shot I got the other day:

Thanks Deb!  Smiley

Ruby (my wife) and I love these little guys.  They are so fun to watch.  We had one male bathing in the rain the other day.  Made for some fun shots. Smiley See shots HERE. Click on the ">>" button under each photo to see 4 shots in that "sequence".  Smiley

Great shots!

Do you use shutter priority mode to capture the pix?

Actually, I use manual aperture and manual shutter speed ... for amost all of my photos now.  Smiley

Check out these new ones:

Check out the tongue on that last one.  That is my clearest, best "hummer tongue" shot yet. Smiley

Wow, thanks Gail!! Smiley

I have been trying to get some good  shots of the hummers with their tongues out.  Usually they come out a little blurred because of their fast movement and also because of the depth of field from head to end of beak and tongue.  This one turned to the side for me so that his head and tongue were at the same distance from the camera. Smiley

Thanks for featuring it on your site's home page Gail. Smiley  I feel honored. Smiley
