Here's a shot of my latest discovery, I had to wait a week for a decent (read overcast) day. Yes, I am standing in the middle of the stream...
Me, my big honkin' boots and Babe.

Not the best shot but it gives perspective of the place.

Now that you've had the teaser please let me know if this one works for you. I don't mess a lot with black and white but this one caught me.

Both are linked to larger versions. Wink  Roll Eyes

Thanks Deb, I think I need to start looking at more images that way. Time for a B&W gallery. Wink

Mike, the only thing I can say is Wow. Probably my all time favorite from you (although there are so many of your shots that I love, it's hard to pick one).

For the "standing in water" pic, did you handhold that shot? If so, you're good... and steady. IO don't know what would happen if I put my tripod in water, but I know to get an kind of flowing effect, I need the tripod, IS alone won't do it.

Thanks Bernard, I had the same reaction, it just seemed to be perfect when I did the conversion while playing around.

Yes, there was definitely a tripod involved. Each step of the lower falls is actually only a few inches deep. Where I crossed the stream there was one spot where the water pooled rather than rushed.  Wink

They are both great shots, but the B&W is absolutely amazing!

Hope you intend to enter it into some contests!

btw, Mike, would you like the B&W posted in your moderator gallery here?

Deb, don't forget when you have a chance to send me some pictures for your mod gallery?

They should have a brief name. For any not taken in 2006, please name the file something like this:

filename05   file name07

Thanks!

Sure Gail, that would fill out page 2. Wink
Thanks for reminding me about the galleries, I hadn't gone back to see that Bernard had posted some of his images. Nice stuff there!

Thanks! Those are my few favorites. When you hit the shutter often enough, you're bound to get a few keepers! Wink
