Or should I have not included the fungi in the fore?

The small image is linked to a larger version. Wink

Hi Mike, it sure works for me. I like dramatic fore/background imagery. You actually have three images here. You could shoot for the falls only. Shoot for the fungi only. AND shoot for both as you did here. I like this best because it shows the diversity and complexity of habitats. It's not just a beauty shot but a well done environmental shot.

Hey, another option, get very close to the fungi to put them up close in the foreground, then get the angle to include the falls in the background. That would emphasis the fungi more. You indeed have lots of good shots at this locale.  Smiley

Thanks Deb, I was afraid it was too "busy" with everything included. I'll have to try that idea of focusing on the fungi with the falls sort of blurred in the background. that might be kind of neat. Wink

I know what you mean but in this case the habitat becomes the subject and so it works very well. IMHO  Smiley

I would like to see a crop of just the watrefall to compare, but it certainly works for me. There are so many gorgeous waterfalls where you live, it's amazing!

Hi Bernard, I think the falls could (and do Wink) work alone. At the time I was there it just occurred to me to try something a bit different and intentionally include an extra dimension so to speak. I like Debs term(s) environmental or habitat shot rather than landscape. Cheesy
What I need is a squirrel or rabbit to actually fill the image out.  Tongue

Just think Bernard, if you take the number of falls that I've discovered in a fairly close radius from my home and multiply that by the seasons and variations in flow it certainly adds up. Roll Eyes Cool Wink

Mike, you really ought to put a waterfall collection together! The photos you've been sharing with us are so gorgeous, and with the plus of you living nearby for capturing seasonal changes, what could be a more fun project for ya!!! Just promise you'll watch out for slippery algae and tipsy rocks.  Wink

Not to mention the little bundles wild animals leave behind. Wink

I came home slightly more odoriferous last weekend after a little hike up a small stream and was mildly confused as to the cause until I checked my boots.  Embarrassed :-/ Shocked

Ahhhhhhh, you are referring to "scat" my dear friend. And, yes indeed, some varieties are quite fragrant.  Grin Cheesy Grin
