Hazy photos

A friend took pictures in full sun and and some indoors and there is a grayish haze look to the prints.  Would this most likely be a camera setting or the developing? It was done  at the drugstore.  Thanks

Hi, we need a little more info. Are these digital images? Can you view the original files? Does the haze appear on these files or just on the prints?
