Coffee, after I put the milk in. Cheesy
Got a long way to go to get the results I've seen from some. I just want to find out how far I can go without getting into all the high speed photogate/flash equipment. These were simple by comparison, cam on tripod with on shoe flash and remote release. Eyeball/ear timing on the drips.

I have to work on getting the shutter speed up.

They are great! How do you position your flash? You use an external one, yes?

External, mounted on the shoe. Those were done over the sink in a very crude way. :-/

I improved the setup slightly today. If you'd care to check a few out...

I took everything down for the night but I'll post a pic of the setup tomorrow.
I really need to figure out how to get around the 250 flash sync speed to really stop motion. (without spending mucho dinero $$$$)

WOW!!! Those are amazing! I'm particularly impressed with #3. The reflection in the suspended drop is gorgeous ... and, I might add, quite festive!  Grin

As promised here's a look at my setup. 20D with 420EX in portrait (to capture those loooong splashes). Home made lightbox (sm version) converted to splash guard Wink and as much light as I can muster besides the flash (need more). Discovered FP Mode again (setting the flash for high speed synch), which lets me get beyond 1/250s but I need more speed.Undecided Anyway here's what it looks like...

A steady drip is provided from the ah, er, drip bag mounted above by means of control valve. If you get into the rythym you can hit most of the drops.  Wink Grin Cool
Not so fancy as a dual IR photogate hooked up to some fancy smansy flash controller but definitely not as expensive either. Roll Eyes
