A scene from the start of yesterdays adventure that took me from the Hartford riverfront to Throgs Neck New York.
A pano of the Hartford skyline from Riverfront Landing. I haven't done a lot of panographic shots but I thought this one came out pretty good and wanted to share.
I know it looks big Gail but I kept it under 40K. Kiss The original is some 25 inches wide. Wink

Wow, what a beautiful shot!! Pefectly exposed and a great composition. Do you have a link to the larger image? Just curious. Did you use a filter to get the starry effect on the road lights? Nice work.

Before anyone asks, this is a three frame pano shot with the 300D using a 24-70mm lens at approximately 57mm. Since I don't have any fancy pano set up I just had to be extra careful as I panned the tripod to get all the sections. I put the sections together using PhotoStitch and what you're seeing here is the sixth attempt at blending. The blend was by eye as the auto mode seemed to have trouble getting a couple of the buildings merged right (never trust your software to do the whole job  Wink)

Well since you asked SBG, no filter for the star effect AFAIK it's caused by the blades on the aperture due to a long exposure (correction appreciated from anyone knowing better). Here's a link to a larger image but beware, there will be side to side scroll viewed at full size. Roll Eyes Grin
This is about 1/3 actual and compressed quit a bit for download...

The detail in that is amazing. You can even see where the mower went when they cut the grass!

Thank you both for the kind comments. As thanks here's a link to something more simple and plain from the same shoot. Tongue Wink

Come on Mike  Grin

Dont keep me guessing!! I'm currently into exposure times, ISO etc as I am enjoying trying a few photos in the night light. (but it is still hit & miss)

Let me guess 2 seconds on a 400asa ?

You sure its New York as I cannot see anyone being mugged? We do get CSI in the Outback you know!  Wink

Very nice shot!

Sorry Garry,

ISO 100 and f/16 for 5 seconds. The scene is from Hartford Connecticut which is where I started my day. I finished my day in New York (and I was across the river for safeties sake  Wink)

Oh, yes there was a tripod involved. Cheesy
