no light for macro

hi folks im new to this i got a fujifilm a 403 for xmas and im having brill fun with it,when i use macro indoors the photos are too dark the instruction manual says do not use flash in macro does this mean macro is no good indoors? can anyone advise please

Hi there Jimmypatton and welcome!
I looked over the Fujifilm 403 pdf manual (page 29) and it says that if you set your camera to auto flash when using macro mode, the camera will automatically suppress the flash. To use flash, it recommends setting your camera to "forced flash" or "slow synchro". You may have to play with your distances and lighting to achieve proper exposure.
