Hi there Teamschock3 and welcome to the Digicamhelp Q&A Board!
In a nutshell, white balance settings are designed to measure the light coming into the camera and then make color adjustments to achieve a "true white". What it is doing is trying to match the "color temperature" of the incoming light. If you've played around with your white balance presets, you'll see the color shift applied to the image by white balancing.
Now, autopresets work fine if you want white to appear true white but what if you don't. What if you want that warm sunset glow to remain present in your image. That is, you don't want the camera to compensate and therefore reduce or eliminate that warm color temperature ("golden hour" color). In this case, select the "daylight" white balance setting and you'll retain that lovely warm glow.

Cheers,
Deb
