I took some snapshots of my husband's motorcycle that had this "glow" right in the middle of the shot and we could not figure out why.  Checked for dirt/fingerprint on lens/sunshine/reflection but it was strange. Do you have any idea what caused the glow?

After reviewing the photo, it almost looks like there was a fingerprint on the lens, but it is more likely diffused light from the brightness from the sky in the back. There is not much you can do about it in image editing software (except cloning). In the future, try taking the photo from a different angle, so the light is not coming so strongly from the back of it.

The glow could have been caused by the strong reflection from the chrome. You can see a blown out area (white area with no detail). If you used a spot meter (not all digicams have them), you could have made a reading on that bright white spot to keep the details. You could have also used the focus/exposure lock after pointing the center of the viewfinder on the area then recompose before fully depressing the shutter release button.
