Hi, I just had my digital camera stolen (on christmas morning  Cry  )
My son gave me his Samsung and I got a new 2GB Kodak memory card for Christmas. Here's the problem.
I can use my own memory cards in the camera but when I try to use the new one it always says "card error". I tried reformatting but it's not working. I even inserted it into my laptop and tried it but that didn't work either. The fact that I had no idea what I was doing didn't help. lol
Is there anyone that can help me out here pleaseeee. I didn't get to take one picture on Christmas morning.  Cry

Hi Gerri and welcome to the Q&A Forum. I hate to answer questions with questions but we cold use a little more information in this case. Can you tell us what model Samsung you have? There's a slight possibility that there is a limit on the size of the memory card it can use. In the meantime there's a little more information here on erasing and formatting a memory card > http://www.digicamhelp.com/accessories/memory-cards/erasing.php

Wow, how disappointing.

As Mike pointed out, make sure the new memory card is compatible with your camera. It it is compatible, it sounds like it could be defective since reformatting didn't help.

Thank you very much. I guess it is because the camera is not compatable.  I can't read the manual Mike, it's not a new camera therefore we don't have the manual. Unfortunately.

Thanks for your help folks,  have a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays.  Smiley

Gerri, that's just a tag line (inside joke) in my profile, I wasn't telling YOU to read the manual. Wink  Roll Eyes If you can find the model number on the camera you may be able to find a copy of the manual on line.
