i'm a complete beginner moreorless !  I am trying to download images from my pc on to a memory card via the camera.  How do you do it? I've got a Canon XTi which basically the USA version of the 400D.  My ultimate aim is to set up photo frame.   Angry

Hi there, foureyes. Welcome to the Q&A Board!

Your camera came with a cable to connect it to your computer. But you need to install the driver first from the CD that also came with the camera. It will also install a program called ZoomBrowser. Once installed, ZoomBrowser will launch and transfer the images to your PC. Then you can use ZoomBrowser to organize, view and edit images.

Of course, you can also use a memory card reader, which doesn't drain your camera battery. Speaking of battery, when transferring the images directly from the camera, make sure (!) the batteries are fully charged. You could lose images, possibly damage your memory card, if the power goes off during the transfer process.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes. If you had additional questions, let us know too.
