i used my sister's camera because the flash is better than mine. and i guess when she took my memory card out, the reset button/switch broke off... and i had a bunch of pictures, like 500 maybe, on it. and i was wondering if there's a way to fix it with or without that switch... i looked in her camera for it, and in mine, and on the floor where she took it out.. and i couldn't find it.. :/

This is the first time I hear of an SD card switch breaking off...

Have you tried using the card nevertheless? I wouldn't advise it if you have not, but if you did maybe we can get some insight from it.

The switch is just there to prevent accidental erasing of data, but I'm not sure if it's a mechanical or electronic effect. In both cases, I think the safest route (to avoid completely damaging your card or card reader) woud be to contact the manufacturere of the card, and ask their advice.

Maybe someone else will have more input to add, but I'm not sure about this so I wouldn't want to give you innacurate information.

As bdery pointed out, seriously consider calling the card manufacturer tech support. Many have toll-free numbers and they can tell you immediately if there is a fix. I hope there is and that you recover your photos. Please let us know what they advise. It would be helpful to others.
