Tripods can be almost as complicated as cameras... in the end, it all boils down to what you intend to do with the tripod.
We are generally not confortable recommending specific brands and models, but here are a few things to consider, that could help guide your choice:
1-will you use the tripod for studio work, or while moving and travelling. That could affect the weigth you should select.
2-Do you wand a ball head, that can easily be oriented in any direction, or a panorama head, that tilts on two axes separately?
3-Should the tripod be able to bear heavy weigths (such as big lenses)?
4-Would a bubble level be useful for your intented use?
All things being equal, a heavier tripod will always be sturdier than a smaller one, but it comes at a price (you have to carry a heavier load). More expensive tripods usually come without a head, which you must purchase separately.
