Hi there mdavies and welcome to the Q&A Forum!

Here is information about filters.

http://www.digicamhelp.com/accessories/filters/

Most FZ18 users I'm aware of buy an UV or Skylight filter to protect the lens and a polarizing filter. You may want to get a "slim" polarizer to help prevent vignetting when shooting at wide angle. They are more difficult to find so I recommend you order through a local camera shop or online from a place like B&H Photo.

The filter size for the FZ18 is 46mm.

Panasonic has lots of accessories available for the FZ18, as they do for all of their cameras.

Click HERE for a list of the FZ18 accessories, including the filters.

Accessories are somewhat high-priced directly from Panasonic (IMO), so finding what you need there and then comparing prices on other brands elsewhere can be helpful. :-)
