Question about batteries
«
on:

Hi,
I'm new to digital photography and just got a new digital camera the other day. I used the two AA batteries that came in the box and hardly took any photos before they were depleted. Is there something wrong with my camera that it drained them so fast? Thank you for any advice.

I bet the batteries were alkaline. If so, they won't last long. There are much better batteries to use. Here's some information about them:

If you take a lot of photos, I recommend you get rechargeable batteries. I recently bought some of the new hybrid batteries, that come pre-charged and hold much of their power longer than standard rechargeables.
Here's some information about rechargeable batteries:

Battery capacity

I also want to suggest that you get batteries with the highest capacity possible. mAh is the measure of the total capacity of a battery. Capacity refers to how much charge a battery holds after it is fully charged. It is typically listed on both packaging and a battery itself.
