Please help.

1GB Fuji XD card - we took about 300 photots and could view all when in camera.  Downloaded onto PC for printing and was only able to view 220 as thumbnails.  The rest were there but 'no preview available' came up.  Could not view or open the pics.  Put card back in camera (Fuji) and 'card not initialised' came up.  Have been trying to read all other threads for solution but most concentrate on re-formatting the card.  I really want to recover the photos and obviously realise that re-formatting will erase all the images.  Can anyone please help??

Hi janda,

have you tried a photo recovery software? There are some very good programs available on the web. Some are free, some are not. Maybe you could recover your files this way. However, since the camera will not recognize your card, maybe you WILL have to format beforehand. Try to find out how the camera formats the card : some erase all the data, some only erase the FAT. If your camera does the late, you might be able to recove the data afterwards, if not you probably have lost your files, sadly.

Good luck!
