Hi all!

I m going to buy my new DC IXUS 800IS.  After reading Gail's blog about 800IS, I wonder does SanDisk Ultra II fast enough for continuous mode and smooth video?  Do I need a fast SD card (e.g. Extreme III) for 800IS? Huh

Thanks!

Hi azero and welcome!

From what I've read about this camera, the Ultra II (or any other brand with 60X speed or higher, like ATP, Lexar, etc) will do the trick. I really don't think you need to spend the money on an Extreme card.

I agree with bdery. A card such as the Ultra II should serve you well. Read the manual and it will tell you to do a "low level" format to get the best out of shooting in continuous and video modes with a high speed memory card!
