i bought a new digital camera and memory card less then a month ago. When I first got it my sister put the memory card in her camera and it automatically formatted to her camera. i dont think we ever got around to formatting it to my camera. i accidently formatted it and lost all my pictures im using two different photo recovery programs and nothing is working. pictures that she took on her camera is being recovered on my memory card. is there any way i can get my pictures back. should i try formatting it to my camera and then run the photo recovery program. i dont really know much about digital cameras and i dont want to take the chance of loosing the pictures for good can anyone help please

Hi gracie and welcome!
For future reference, it's always better to format a card in the camera you intend to use it with. Now, concerning your problem, recovery will not work if your files were "erased" during formatting and something else written over it. It can work if the files were not overwritten but only erased. Sometimes, it's worth it to get a paying photo recovery software, they tend to find more stuff. But there's no fixed rule for this.
What is your camera model? Did you do a low level format or a regular format?
