Hello,
I recently bought a Canon Powershot A95, I also got a Sandisk CF 1 gig memory card and formatted it. I shot a movie about 20 seconds long, and waited for the green light to stop flashing. 4 minutes later it was still going! Shocked Ok so then I did the no no and tried to shut off camera, no good; tried pushing every button on camera, nothing worked. Ultimatly ended up opening battery compartment! Cheesy haha took care of that problem. I figure since there was nothing on the card no biggie should i lose it right? Well, then i tried to take pics and get this Memory card error, ok no biggie I'll just try to reformat. When I try to it kind of freezes up my camera, black screen, like it powers down but doesn't draw in the lens or cover. I put in a smaller 64 Mb card works great, no problems. What does this mean? Do i need to buy a new card? Any suggestions on which one?
Thanks for any advice/opinions.

Welcome to the Q&A Board, Cciccarone!

What I highly recommend is that you call Sandisk. I had a problem Compact Flash card about two weeks ago. In my case, it was Lexar.  I called their toll-free number (got it off their website) and they walked me through fixing the card right over the phone. It took less than five minutes. If it's still on warranty, they'll replace it.

If you have a problem card that can not be fixed, by all means buy a new one. They're not cheap but why risk losing a picture of a lifetime if the card decides to konk out?! My guess, though, is that it can be fixed or replaced.

You paid a lot of money so let Sandisk tech support do their stuff.
