I have HP R707 digital camera. HP recommends for R series cameras their Photosmart R series dock (C8887A). Has anyone out there had any experience with this one?
Thanks

Hi cBuG,

It has good reviews by users, as does your camera. And the dock is the one specifically recommended for you model.

The dock is a convenient and easy way to transfer images from the Secure Digital card and built in memory. If I understand correctly, the dock can also be connected to a TV for viewing of your image files.

On the other hand, you can probably just use a memory card reader, which should cost lest than half the price of the dock. A reader would also be easier to carry arround and plug into another computer usb port if you travel.

So to me, it's six of one, half-dozen of the other. Evaluate what dock features you'll actually use and determine if it's worth the extra cost.
