Hey I was wondering how can you tell if your card is corrupt. I have a Fuji xD memory card and I wasnt aware that putting them into another camera without formatting can do that. I let my friend borrow my card to use in her Olympus the other day, she took some pictures, and left them on the card. I put it into my camera and deleted them. Took picture later on and then tried to put them on my computer. It recognized the camera and loaded Fine Pix Viewer but a folder comes up calling it 101olym and has folders 101fuji 102fuji but I can not click them and none of my pictures load. How can I fix this problem?

Hi heleneicole and welcome to the Q&A Board!

Sorry to hear about your problem with the memory card. Unfortunately, I'm not confident it can be fixed without formatting the card. You really shouldn't use a card with two different cameras without formatting the card in the camera you'll be using it in. Erasing images simply makes more space on the card. Formatting sets up the entire file and folder structure on the card for the camera. You can read about the differences between erasing and formatting here:

If you format the card, you may lose images, though you can try to recover them later with photo rescue software. But formatting the card in your Fuji is the best bet to get the card working with your camera again.

Let us know how it goes.

Here's a listing of where to download a copy of the manual for most digital cameras. Go to FujiFilm's site and download a copy for your specific camera.

http://www.digicamhelp.com/digital-camera-manuals/where-to-download-a%20digital-camera-manual.htm

Generally, you format a memory card from the Playback menu. Most digital cameras have a menu button which you press to view the Menu on the LCD. Then you navigate through the menus with arrow buttons until you find Format. From that point, follow the onscreen directions.

Sorry I can't be more specific. Every camera is slightly different so the best bet is to download a pdf version of the manual.
