Digital camera accessories

Dear all,
i have recently returned from a trip to amsterdam where i took over 100 photos with my camera (Fugifilm Finepix A310) i took out the memory card to give to a friend to put on their computer, but their camera would not read the card - as it had to be formatted!
so when i put the card back into my camera - 'card not initialized' came up on the screen!
i've tried and tried to retrieve the photos on a computer - with no luck!

is there anyway to salvage the photos?

and how can i get my silly camera to accept the memory card again??

please help, i don't want to loose all these photos!

Hi Lauren, and welcome to the Q&A Board!

So many others have had similar xD memory card problems. Several have had success getting the card back in working order, others have not.

I'm going to give you links to where these issues have been discussed and hopefully you can find something helpful. If not, please contact your camera or card manufacturer for help.

Even if you eventually can format the card, you may be able to get back many of your photos. Hope something here helps:

Is it possible to recover images from a camera reformatted xD card?  Please say yes!

JoeT, if you completely formatted your card, I fear it won't be possible. If you deleted your images but left the registry alone, you might be able to recover them.

I know of one good (and free, I believe) software that works, called PC inspector. You might also check here:
