My photographic objective is to zoom in on my kids during sports, mostly softball where I cant get close to them on the field.  I chose the S2 primarily for its 12X zoom among other features and am extremely hapy with it.

I am told that there are additional lens and adapters for the S2.

Is it possible toadd more zoom to my S2?

Will more zoom cause me more headaches as a novice photographer?

Thanks...

Hi Brad and welcome to the Q&A Board!

I don't think using more zoom will give you more headaches but you'll always do best when taking shots in bright light. You will have to remember to change to the Converter setting in the menu area.

Canon sells lenses and adapters for the S2.

Many Canon users like the products sold by Lensmate. Their site gives a lot of information about converter lenses, etc. and there are sample photos taken with non-canon brand wide and telephoto adapters.

Their FAQs are very helpful:

Hi there Brad, I've used "converter" lenses (Nikon for a Nikon 995) and found them dandy. No headaches at all.  Smiley

Don't forget to use a fast shutter speed to reduce camera movement induced blur and to freeze the action especially if you're zoomed in real tight.
