I am currently shooting a Casio QV 2000UX with an IBM 340 MB Microdrive memory card.  It is time for a new camera.  I have been very happy with this microdrive, I never run out of room and the quality is always there.  I would like to use this card in a new camera.  I cannot find a listing that tells if the camera is comp[liant with these types of cards.  Are these cards similar to flash memory cards?   I'm stuck and don't want to downgrade this feature with a new camera.

Hi Michael, you'll want to check out the specs for the various camera models you are interested in to see if they are compatible with a microdrive. If you can't find that info, then contact the camera manufacturer.

Nope, they aren't similar to flash memory cards. Microdrives are in fact tiny little harddrives. Cool, huh! They fit into the Compact Flash slot however.
