What does anyone think of the pictbridge digital?. I have 2 digitals and now I have to be soo care ful what printers I get can use memory/compact flash cards.
Don't they make an adapter so that I can use what I own to print?  ? ?

Forgot to mention what if your digitals are not pictbridge compatible. How can I use them if I can't connect them to my computer? All I want to do is print. (My loving husband got the new printer without checking with me.)

Hello scouts,

Welcome to Digicamhelp!

I've actually not had time to try pictbride. I've had an old printer until recently and my new one is pictbridge compatible.

Yes, you must make sure your new printer is pictbridge compatible so it will work with your digital camera.

If I understand your question correctly, you don't need a special adapter. All you have to do is connect the camera to the printer, and you'll be able to edit through your camera menu system and looking at the LCD. Also, some printers come with a built-in LCD screen and you can edit using the printer.

Hope this helps. If not, let us know.

Hi, if you have a computer, then you can actually use any printer whether it is Pictbridge compatible or not. (You would ignore/bypass the Pictbridge function.) Either connect your camera directly to the computer using a USB or Firewire (whichever came with your camera) OR use a card reader device (like Zio!, Jumpshot, etc.) with your compactflash card.

But he can not use the pictbridge capabilites of his camera, correct? In other words, he will not be able to edit, resize, enhance images  with his camera. Some sort of photo editing software will be needed.

Yep, that's right if Scouts doesn't already have photo editing software. But, I was under the impression Scouts already had a printer, therefore I assumed the printer came with photo editing software you know like Film Factory, Elements, etc.

Is the a device to enable a Non-pictbridge digital camera to connect directly to a pictbridge printer?
