Help!  I went to use my camera which I had just used a few hours before and it says I need to format my card.  Nothing has changed since I used it a few hours ago.  I have not tried to format the card because it says it will erase all my pictures that are currently on the card.  Is there a way to retrieve those pictures?  I don't want to lose them.  Help please!!! :-/  Also, why did this happen???  Thanks!

Hi there JillianCA. Welcome to the Q&A Board!

There is some information about photo rescue and recovery here:

http://www.digicamhelp.com/digital-photo-recovery-and-rescue/index.htm

Also, ArtPlus offers two free utilities, which others have said work very well. You can get a description of them (and other free digital photo utilities), here:

http://www.digicamhelp.com/free-digital-camera-software/index.htm

Take a look at what jck-p says about ArtPlus software near the bottom of the page:

I would just like to thank you very very much for the tip of Art Plus Software. After desperately looking for a solution to recover my holiday photos I came across your message board and found this tip.
I just ran the program 2 mins ago and results are PERFECT!
A big and relieved thank you! Cheesy
