hey! can someone help me? the videos that are stored in my memory card wouldn't transfer to my pc... i'm using a card reader.. it worked before but after i recorded more videos, it doesn't want to transfer anymore... it says it needs to be formatted but i don't dare do so because i might lose my files... what do I do?

Welcome to the Q&A Board! Sorry to hear about the problem.

When you go to My Computer, do you see the icon for the card reader? If so, double click on it and see if the video files are visable. Then, click and drag them onto your desktop so they will be copied there.

Another suggestion is to use the usb cord which came with your camera and try to transfer the vidoes use it.

If your using Windows XP to transfer is using PTP (Photo Transfer Protocol) it does not transfer video files.  This normally happens when reading directly from the camera.  When checking "My Computer" check to make sure the card reader is showing up as a removable drive, if not go to the manufactures web-site to see if there is a firmware or driver update.
