I have a Kodak DX6490 and a Promaster 5550DX Flash. I looking for a guide or information on how to use this flash with this camera to get the best results. Neither flash or camera manufacture have good information on using it. Thanks in advance.

What type of information are you looking for? Most flashes work best under the majority of circumstances when setting them to automatic TTL (through the lens) mode. Some flashes have two TTL modes, one if the flash is dedicated to the camera, and another setting when the flash is not. You should check if the Kodak camera has a flash menu and if it needs to be changed when using an external flash.

Hi Extrememc, have you seen this article by Kodak? It discusses how to use an external flash with the DX6490. This should get you started.
