how to reformat picture card?

how to reformat picture card?

My camera was working with my picture card until today when I turned it on and it said "!card not initialized". In the manual it suggests reformatting the card. How do I do this? No instructions in the manual. Embarrassed

Hi terrys,

Welcome to the Q&A Board.

Typically you access the Format menu via the camera's menu system. For some digital cameras you have to be in play mode, on others you need to be in record mode (Some cameras let you access the Format menu from both).

You didn't mention which camera you have, but I presume it has a menu button. If so, turn the LCD on, press menu and scroll until for find the format menu. Hopefully, your manual provides instructions on how to navigate the menu.
