I bought a digital camera for my husband last Christmas - an Oregon Scientific DS6638 - he didn't want anything flash, just something to take holiday snaps with, and he's very pleased with it.  Until now.  I've just bought hubby an "advance" Christmas present - a San Disk 256MB memory card for his camera.  I checked the manual, and it's compatible, and we formatted the disk, like the manual told us to.  The problem is, we can see the pictures we've saved on the disk on the OCD, but when we plug the USB cable in, none of the images appear.  We do get teh "removable disk" come up, but nothing seems to be in there.  We've had to use a card adaptor on my work laptop in order to download the files, as they don't seem to be downloading from the camera onto our PC.  Any ideas?

Hi halsters,

Welcome to the Q&A Board.

Hmmmm, sounds like the Nightmare before Christmas.  Grin Tongue

Sorry to hear about the problems you're having with the memory card. The card itself seems to be working since you can access the images on your laptop.

At this point, I'll be asking more questions than providing answers, to help pinpoint the problem.

Are you trying to transfer the images from the camera with the cable that came with it, or are you using a memory card reader?  What Operating System are you using and does it require a camera driver installation to transfer the images? If so, have you installed the driver?

Also, many digital cameras come with a CD where the driver is. As part of the driver there may be launcher software, so when you connect the card reader or camera, it starts automatically transferring the photos. Does your digicam come with something like that?

When you say you get the "removable disk" is that a screen or, if you use Windows, can you actually see it on the C-drive when you navigate there? If so, do you right-click on the removable disk icon and open it?

Let us know some of these things then I believe we can be of more help.
