Pretty slick and the price doesn't seem bad either. Maybe after I fill up my new 120 G drive. Wink

Would you believe I only have a 10 mb hard drive...all my photos are burned to cd's. But I have been thinking of getting another hard drive.

What's the advantage of this one?

Also, it doesn't mention that it is USB 1 compatible, so it may not work for folks like me without a USB 2 port.

I really don't want a new computer because my three year old baby is fine for my needs....except the drive size.

I was thinking that this would be a good option for trips. That's quite a bit of storage for the buck and a lot more convenient than packing along a laptop (for storing all those images). You could dump your card's contents onto this whenever you were at a place with power. Easier to carry onto a plane too! What will they think of next?  Smiley

BTW, is USB 2 not backwards compatible with USB 1? I'll have to ask around about that.

I'm fairly certain that only certain USB 2 devices are backwards compatible. It usually says so on the packaging. If you learn anything different, let us know.

thanks,

Whoa, I think you need a serious upgrade. Can you actually install software on that. Tongue Grin

Well, I recently bought a second digicam...so the budget is tight. But with only 2 mb left on my hard drive, it's becoming a pain to keep it lean!

But installing a second hard drive, USB 2, etc. plus pay for the labor to install it, well, I'm probably better off buying a new cpu.

But, it'll have to wait!  Cry

Don't let the store talk you into installing it for you. You really wouldn't believe how easy it is to do it yourself!  Wink
