I have a three megapixel digital camera which came with a very small "starter" memory card. I want to get a larger capacity card. What size do you recommend?

As a rule of thumb the following size memory card is a recommended minimum:

64 MB or higher for a 2 megapixel digicam
128 MB or higher for a 3 megapixel digicam
256 MB or higher for a 4 megapixel digicam
512 MB or higher for a 5 megapixel digicam

This can vary based on the number of photos you generally take. Still, it is always wise to have an extra memory card with you in case you take more pictures or longer videos than you expect.

Remember that if you take high resolution photos, or shoot a lot of video, they consume a huge amount of space. Get a card, or cards, with enough storage to suit your photo taking needs.
