Just curious, can I use my Canon S1 as a Compact Flash media card viewer?

I have a SanDisk card reader with several Compact Flash type media cards that I use in a Cuddeback digital trail camera and was wondering if I connect the S1 to the card reader, would I be able to view photos on the media cards?  If this will work, I will have to buy the cable with small connections on each end to connect the two devices.

If not, is there any other way to view the media card photos using the S1?

Thanks, Dave

I was unaware that you can connect a digital camera to a card reader. You can, of course, insert the compact flash card into the S1 and view the images on the LCD.

It might not work, though, if the Cuddeback formats cards in a way that is not compatible with Canon cameras.

Also post your question at Media and Storage forum at dpreview; some of the participants may be familiar with the cuddeback camera:

The Canon S1 has an SD card slot.  I am guessing I would have to buy an SD to Compact Flash adapter to plug into the camera card slot to do that.

I believe the Compact Flash and SD cards have different write speeds, data transfer rates, etc.  Would the S1 camera read the Compact Flash card data and show the photos OK?  Could that cause any trouble with the camera?

Thanks for any information.
