Hi

I am a bit confused with the flash setting in my Nikon D80

Does anyone know - how to set the flash setting so that I can get a Fill Flash on demand  Smiley

Thanks

Hi and welcome!

I'm not familiar with your camera but most of the time, to get fill flash you need to simply force the flash to fire. On my camera, for instance, I set things so that if the flash is raised, it will fire all the time. But I raise it manually, which leaves me in control.

I don't have a Nikon, and I use flash rarely, but I've been told when you raise the flash in a program mode, it's a fill flash. If you want more control over the flash, use it in manual mode.

If the Nikon is like many other DSLS, you probably have flash compensation so you can adjust the output of the flash (in most instances, lower for fill flash).
