how do i get the date  on the printed photo with my sony dsc-h10?  it shows up on the preview but not when the photo is  printed

Hi db619 and welcome!

According to the manual, your camera does not have a feature for superimposing dates on images. You can, however, print or save images with the date buy using the "Picture Motion Browser" that comes on the CD supplied with the camera.

There is a freeware utility called Photo Dater that lets you add dates to one file, entire folders, or selected multiple files. You can even add a custom date.
