Does somebody know what is more important, a higher MP-rate or is it the lense?
I mean, what qualities do a camera have to have so that you can get the best pic?

In my experience and opinion, the quality of the lens is most important; that includes the zoom: optical is much better than a digital zoom (some cameras have both; I personally shut off the digital zoom).
Most of us don't need more than 6-8 megapixels, though today most digital cameras have 10-12 MP, which is often too much for compact cameras with small sensors. If you do a lot of cropping when editing or make very large prints, more megapixels are better.

To get the best out of it, you need to learn how to use it correctly, learn about exposure, focus and features such as exposure compensation. That means reading the manual and lots of practice.
