Digital cameras 101

I tried to add some videos/pictures from memory card 2 to memory card 1.  After it was done, I could see all the files from the PC, but if I inserted the memory card back to the camera, no files could been seen, I could only see black screen.  Even the untouched files did not show up too.  Can you please help me to fix the problem?

First, can you tell me whitch camera brand-model you own?

Did you use a card reader to upload the pictures?

Sometimes the camera will store a small file linked to the image file (usually hidden) or to an image folder. Without that file, the camera will not recognize the pictures.

Sometimes the files need to be in a folder with the same folder name, or some other rule such as this one. Because of this, it's not always possible to use the camera as a generic picture viewer, sadly.
