Ouch, sorry to hear about your camera...but it is a nice opportunity to get a new one.  Cheesy Tongue

Consumer Reports would be a good place to check. The cover of the July 09 issue is about cameras, and the article rates 77 point and shoot and digital single lens reflex cameras. It contains a lot of good information. Note however, that it does not cover digital cameras that came out in the last few months. It also rates the reliability of cameras based on subscriber feedback.

You may also want to check out what PC Photo has to say. If you go to a large bookstore, they may have back issues of popular digital photography magazines.
