Digital camera accessories

this is a very nice site you guys have here! googled Nikon D60 help and you guys popped up! my question is, i have Sakar MC zoom/C-MACRO 1:4.5 f=80-200mm lens that was giving to me it mounts on to the D60 but it won't take any pics and the D60 has a message that lens is not connected. it was a gift and was wondering if i have to use an adapter for it to work and if so which one do i need for the lens and D60 to work. This is my first digtal camera, and im still learning about it. Any help would be great. THANKS for you time ,Girty once again Camera= Nikon D60

I am not familiar with the lens, but I know someone who can help and advise about an appropriate adapter. Contact B&H Photo (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/). They are one of the world's largest camera shops and, if an adapter is available for your camera, they will most likely have it.

Hello Girty,

to add a little tidbit, I believe that if the lens mounts correctly, it probably does not require an adapter, but might be a manual lens without electronic contacts. Some brands support these lenses (with manual controls only) and others don't. It might be that you have to enable the use of such lenses in your camera's menu (with my personnal DSLR I have to allow the use of manual lenses before using any of them).

I agree that B&H is a good place to look for information. It's hard to find informations about Sakar products in general, the person who sold the lens to you might also have some information for you, maybe a manual or something?
