Hello everyone, any help you can give me would be amazing!

I recently dug my very OLDSCHOOL Sony Cybershot 4.1 to sell in a garage sale I'm having.  Naturally I want to delete all of the old pictures off of it before I sell it, but some of the pictures are "locked".  When I try to delete them it says "picture locked" and shows a little key icon on the side of the screen.  Is there any way to unlock the pictures, or refresh the memory card so it can be used again?

Again, any advice or help would be wonderful!  Thanks so much!

Hi Bellitude and welcome to the Q&A Forum!

In the playback menu, you should have a menu option to lock/unlock images. However, my guess is that you're trying to erase the memory card and you should be formatting it. Formatting will completely refresh the memory card and there should be no need to unlock individual locked images.

This article on the difference between formatting and erasing a memory card should give you all the information you need.

Check your camera manual for specifics. If you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
