I don't do a lot of photo editing but would like a better program than the one that came with my digital camera. It should be easy to use, plus I'd prefer not to spend a lot of money. Any suggestions? Thanks very much.

Hi Hannah, you could start with Gimp or Picasa. Both are free and quite workable.

Hi, for about $99 USD you can purchase Adobe Photoshop Elements 6. It too has quite a bit of editting power.

All the programs mentioned are very good, with Picasa being the most simple to use. Though it is not as sophisticated as the other software mentioned, it's really quite nice for those who don't want to fuss a lot with editing. I use Picasa for photo orgainizing and editing of snapshots. I use Photoshop for more sophisticated image processing.

Picnik is a fun, free photo editor that you use directly from your browser. Lots of useful tools and filters. For a small annual fee, you get even more features. Worth checking out.

i think , you may buy the adobe photoshop  how ever it costs cause with this software . you won't need any other software in your life to retouch or edit a photo ..
i mean its the professional way to edit , and the best .

Yes, the gold standard in image editing is Adobe Photoshop. However it is expensive so many people buy it's little brother "Adobe Elements."
